Matt Marvuglio is dean of the Professional Performance Division at Berklee College of Music.
Matt has performed throughout the United States, Europe, and Japan premiering his own compositions for flute.
He has been the jazz chair of the National Flute Association and has presented workshops for the Acoustic Society of America, and was a soloist/ clinician for the British Flute Society and the International Flute Convention in Sao Paolo, Brazil.
He has authored articles on flute playing and musicianship in the Instrumentalist, Artist’s House and other national magazines/websites.
Matt is the flute soloist on the instructional demonstration CD/book packages for: Reading Key Jazz Rhythms, Playing Through the Blues, and Let’s Play Rhythm published by Advance Music.
His most recent recordings are with Phil Wilson for the Capri label where he is featured on bass flute. He is also featured on Danilo Perez’s new solo album Providencia on Mack Avenue Records nominated for a Grammy this year as Best Jazz Instrumental Album, and is currently a member of The Eddie Gomez Quintet.
Matt is the curriculum editor and composer for the Berklee Practice Method series and When Music Works.
